The beautiful blonde lay helpless in her hospital bed, both her left leg and arm in heavy casts. At least she was right handed, but she wouldnt be able to ride, drive or even walk for at least six weeks. Frustrated, she slammed her head back into her pillow and let out an exasperated sigh. Everything that could possibly ruin her week was happening. Danny and Anton got in a fight, she had gotten injured, her only employee had quit, and now she was laying helpless in a hospital bed. At least Rashka hadnt gotten injured.
She adjusted herself so she could sit up on the bed and reach the tv remote, and turned on the tv. Neither Danny or Anton were in the room so at least she was able to relax. She looked on the side table and grabbed her phone sending anton a text saying she was awake. She really just wanted to go home at this point, and now she had to try and find some fellow students who needed jobs so she could keep her ranch going. She knew Anton would help her but he couldnt do it alone. Jezz was furious. She turned and her cast slammed into the bedrail, sending a jolt of pain up her arm, making her eyes water and she cried out. DAMNIT DAMNIT DAMNIT!!! A nurse poked her head in and gave her a small dose of pain killers and slowly jezz started to relax, laying her head back on the pillow, staring blankly at the ceiling.

The dark haired man had been doing a lot of thinking. He still was on the fence as to whether he should keep fighting for Jezz or just let her be and be happy with that scumbag asshole. At least he was comforted knowing that they would never have what he and Jezz had. No one would ever know what they had. What they had was far from special. What they had was true love. Yet, here he was sleeping alone at night, missing and wanting Jezz constantly.
He didn't know how long he had been sitting in his car in the hospital parking lot, but he didn't care. His sharp blue eyes stayed on the diamond ring that was held between his thumb an index finger of his right hand. It was beautiful; like Jezz. She was the reason he had even gotten it. He closed his eyes and tightened his hand around the ring. Danny let out a slow breath and put the ring back into the pocket of his jeans, then got out of the car. He locked it as he started walking towards the entrance of the hospital.
When he walked inside he had to dodge around a few bustling doctors to avoid them from running into him. He cursed under his breath, Damn doctors. He shook his head as he reached the reception desk. Danny smiled softly at the elderly lady behind the desk. I'm looking for the room of Jezzebelle Keller. The older lady smiled and nodded, then checked the computer. She then responded, Room 202. He nodded and started towards the elevator. Thank you. He glanced behind him as he walked towards the elevators in the lobby and caught the old bag checking out his ass. She looked away quickly and he did his best to not laugh. When the elevator doors open, a lot of nurses and doctors piled in it along with him. He didn't even have to press the button for the second floor because a short Asian nurse had beaten him to the punch.
It was a short elevator ride and when they arrived at the second floor, the doors opened and half of the people in the elevator spilled out, including him. He walked down the hallway just a little bit until he spotted room 202. Danny halted outside the room for a little bit, trying to compose himself before entering. Once he felt comfortable, he walked in. He tried to muster a big smile, but it only made it about halfway. He hoped to God that she wouldn't throw him out. Hi. He didn't really know what else to say. His heart felt seeing her laying there in that hospital bed. The beautiful blonde looked absolutely miserable. He took a couple steps towards the bed. It had just donned on him that he had forgotten to stop by the gift shop to get her some flowers and a gift. He was just too eager to see if she was alright, that he had completely forgotten. I know I'm the last person you want to see, but I had to see you. I had to see that you were okay... His blue eyes started to tear up a bit. He hated the current situation. He hated it with a fiery passion. It wasn't fair. It definitely wasn't fair at all.

Jezz sat up as she heard someone outside her door, but the drugs forced her back down. She sighed, a frown on her beautiful face. When danny came through the door, she did her best to smile at him. Seeing him about to cry was breaking her heart. As he walked towards her, she slowly sat up and prsessed the button to adjust the bed to support her current position. She looke at him, seeing him so broken and down hearted. Danny I'll be fine. You know me. Strong as a mule and twice as hard headed. She tilted her head to the side and offered him a smile.
In the back of her mind all she could think about were th
e memories that they had shared together. Danny had always been there for her, and there was a time she was sure they would be together forever. She looked up at him, her smile fading slightly. Danny are you okay? You look like youre about to cry. She repositioned herself to where her feet could dangle just above the ground and her broken arm rested in her lap. When danny had fallen in love with aisling he had broken a trust. But he had been so apologetic. Part of jezz desperately wanted him to rush up and kiss her, but another part was afraid that he might fall for someone else again and she would get another broken heart. She rocked back and forth watcjing his face for any change in expression. Come sit down. You look dead on your feet. Have you not been sleeping? She patted a space on the bed beside her and smiled at him.

Danny stood motionless for a minute or two, placing his right hand over his eyes. He didn't want Jezz to see him cry. He pursed his lips and removed his hand, composing himself. He took a breath in and sat on the hospital bed. He placed his right hand on her unbroken leg and looked into her gorgeous blue eyes. He shook his head at her last question. No. I haven't. Surprisingly, I haven't gone on a drinking binge like the last time I lost you.
Everything he felt inside was numb, even though he knew the pain was there. The pain was constantly there even when he was doing his everyday things, but he did his best to ignore it until he would get home. When he would get home, he would sit on the couch and just drink a couple beers and be miserable. Eventually he would fall asleep on the couch to avoid to having to sleep in the bed and be in even more misery without her presence there.
It's been hard for me to cope, Jezz. Every time I lose you...its always just so hard. It's never been like that with anyone else. I know I made a mistake, but I obviously loved you more if I never pursued her. He pulled out the diamond ring from his jeans pocket and put it in her lap. I had gotten this for you before this whole thing happened. I had every intention of putting it on your finger and making you forever mine. He paused, glancing down at the ring, then looking up into her gorgeous eyes. He smiled sincerely at her. The offer will always stand. I'll always be here for you.
Danny stood up and looked towards the door then glanced back at Jezz. Well, I guess I better get going before your soulja boy comes. Try not to let him see that. He might get jealous. He smirked and winked at her, making his way towards the door. He couldn't take his eyes off of her. She looked beautiful even in a hospital bed. Hell, she would always look beautiful no matter what. A lump formed in his throat as reality set back into him. He hated this. He hated hurting like this. When was it going to be over?

When Danny sat down and placed his hand on her leg, she slid her own underneath his and intertwined her fingers with his. It all felt so familiar to her. She leaned her head up against his strong shoulder and sighed while he talked. Truthfully, she still wanted danny. Hearing him talk about how much he missed her only made her heart ache more. Truth is, I miss you too. You were my world for years, Danny. And honestly, its still that way. You were my first love. And that kind of thing just doesnt fade. She let go of his hand to wipe away the tears that were running down her cheek when danny put the ring in her lap. THen the flood gates opened up and she began to sob uncontrollably.
When he stood up she reached out to him, silently begging him to stay. WHen he started to walk away she did her best to stand up and hobbled along behind him to the best of her ability. Danny, wait! She grabbed his shoulder, turning him around and kissing him, leaning on him for support. Her hand was clenched tight around the ring he set in her lap. Okay. She whispered into his ear and kissed him again. The pressure of their lips together felt more right than anything. Now all she could do was stand there and see what would happen next.

His expression fell a bit as Jezz hurried out of the bed as quickly as she could and hobbled over to him. His heart fell for her. She was so darn cute! But he definitely wasn't expecting her to kiss him. His eyes went wide as their lips met, but he quickly closed them and sank into her sweet deep kiss. A smile formed onto his lips. Her kisses were something that always intoxicated him and having one again seemed to wake him up a bit.
Danny's blue eyes searched hers as she said okay. Was she saying yes to his proposal? His eyebrows furrowed in confusion. Jezz, what about -, he was cut short by another kiss. He chuckled softly and pressed his lips against hers once more. What about your boyfriend? His blue eyes searched hers, looking for answers. I don't want to make you be with me if he is what you want. You seemed so in love and so happy with him. I don't want you with me out of guilt. I want you to want to be with me. He took his hands in hers and rubbed his thumbs on the backs of her hands. They were so soft, just as they had always been.
Danny stared at her hands for a bit before looking back into her gorgeous eyes. I'm the one who put you here in the hospital. He didn't. You've said you loved him, so why are you changing your mind? You fucktard! You're finally getting what you've been wanting and you're ruining it! Just shut up and accept the fact that she's accepting your proposal. He pushed the thoughts to the back of his mind, knowing his conscious was right. A soft smile played on his lips before. He wanted Jezz more than anything, but he didn't want her pity.

Tears were still streaming down her face, but the heat of each kiss eased her heart a little more. The combination of walking and the medication she had been given made her dizzy. She clung to him tightly, her head on his shoulder, tears staining his shirt. Each time he asked a question, her heart jumped into her throat and it seemed she couldnt get the words out. Anton is great, really. And yeah, I care about him very much. But I never expected to see you again. He's fun, and great in bed, but we have so much history together. I guess some things have to happen before we know where we are supposed to be. She looked up at him, the tears in her eyes starting to subside. Her blue eyes glittered from the tears she had shed, her face plain without makeup and her hair in a mess. But here was the first man she had ever loved, looking at her like she was beautiful.
What he said next made her tear up again and look down. She let go of him for a moment to wipe her eyes. She buried her face in his shirt for a moment, trying to find the words to say. It wasnt your fault that I decided to ride so hard. I'm lucky i didnt kill my horse. And does love count if it started out as an attempt to hurt someone else? Sit down with me again. She kissed his cheek and sighed, taking his hand and hobbling back to her hospital bed. She squeezed his hand when she sat down. Tell me what we are supposed to do now? Her voice shook a little, she was trying not to cry anymore, holding danny's ring in her free hand like it was the only thing holding her to the ground.

Danny's heart sank as Jezzebelle clung to him and she started to cry. He wrapped his arms around her, holding her tightly. After a short while of holding her, he released his grip and held her hand and led her back towards the hospital bed, sitting down and motioning for her to sit down next to him. His blue eyes searched hers as he let her speak, getting the answers he's wanted all along.
He grimaced when she said that Anton was good in bed. Jealously hit him quick and his expression changed into an angry one as he pursed his lips. He didn't say anything though; he kept his trap shut. No one is better than me and I know she knows that. He blinked a bit as he continued to listen to her. His gaze fell to the ground. Jezz, I have always been here for you...through thick and thin. I was still here when you left out of nowhere to pursue your singing career and I'm here now. No other guy would have done that. I never went out and partied and slept with a bunch of girls because I couldn't. There was only one girl who has ever had my heart and that's you. I love you, Jezzebelle, and I always will. He lifted her hand and kissed it softly, his eyes searching hers once more. She really was the only woman he wanted to be with for the rest of his life. He needed her. Without her, he was nothing.
Rashka is fine, trust me. He will always love you no matter what. He lifted his free hand and dried her tears with it, smiling softly. He chuckled, You did your job. You hurt me pretty bad. If you want me, then I am here. I want to be your husband Jezzebelle Keller. I want to live, have babies together, and grow old and die together. I can't live without you. He glanced down at the ring in her hand and held it up to her. His sharp blue eyes once more stared deep into hers. Marry me, Jezz. A soft smile crept upon his lips as he said the words. Even talking about Jezz becoming his wife gave him butterflies. He loved this blonde-haired beauty without a doubt and he would never give up on her. Ever.

With his arms around her, she felt safer than ever. She felt bad for crying when she had done him wrong so many times. She melted into him, just like she always had, and slowly her tears started to subside. Her mind felt more at ease than it had in such a long time. Since that day they had their picnic out in their clearing. She sighed. Truly this was where she was supposed to be. Danny was her only true love. She looked up at him when he loosened his grip on her and she could see in his eyes the sex comment had wounded his pride. His infuriated expression made her giggle. Baby, you know noone can compare to you. We make love, we dont just have sex. Dont get so frustrated. She gave him that come and get me smile that used to get him so hot and bothered. He always made her feel sexy. even if it was just her in one of his old shirts.
His words made her tear up again, but with sweet happy tears, a smile on her face. She kissed his lips so softly before he opened his mouth to speak again so she sat back and listened. What he said next made her heart explode. All she could do was smile from ear to ear. She looked at him and down at the ring in his hand and nodded, rushing forward and kissing him over and over again saying yes over and over again. She wrapped her arms around him tight. Yes, Daniel Jacob Jackson, I will marry you! This sentence was followed by more kisses and a sly smile. Now why dont you get me the hell out of here and back to our horses, future hubby of mine? She kissed his neck softly and made a pouty face. She desperately wanted out of this hospital bed and to get home. Luckily her stables were crutch and wheelchair friendly. She was just ready to go.

He felt comforted by Jezz's words. He smiled softly at her. She was right. They did always make love. It wasn't just sex. It was always more. It always felt like more. He had never done that with any woman so that made his attachment to Jezz even stronger. His smile widened when Jezz smiled. He loved it when she smiled, it complimented her so well. His lips met hers once more. He whispered softly, You are so beautiful. You know that, right? Danny leaned back, his soft blue eyes admiring her.
His smile turned into laughter at Jezz's acceptance to his proposal. His whole face lit up and he slit the beautiful five thousand dollar engagement ring onto her left ring finger. It looked perfect on her, like he knew it would. Smiling and feeling inexplicably happy he pulled her into his arms and lifted her off the bed as he stood up. Then he remembered that she had a broken arm and a broken leg. He immediately set her back down on the bed, hoping he hadn't caused her anymore pain. Baby, I'm so sorry!
Danny glanced towards the door. No nurses or doctors had noticed his dumb mistake and he was glad about that because he knew he'd be in for a lecture. Let me go see about getting you out of here. With that, he stood up once more and gave her a quick peck on the cheek before walking out of the hospital room and towards the nearest nurse's station. All three nurses that were standing there immediately looked at him and gawked at him. He narrowed his eyes a bit. Can someone help me discharge my fiance. I'm pretty sure she's ready to go. The light browned hair nurse in pink scrubs blushed as she nodded. I'll gather the paperwork and bring it to you-I mean, her to sign. He nodded and started to walk off, all the while all three of the women continued to gawk at him. God, is this ever going to stop. I hate getting so much female attention. I'm probably the only guy in the world who feels this way. Oh well.
He walked back into Jezz's hospital room and smiled as he met her gaze. They are bringing the paperwork for you to sign and then we're out of here! I'm sure Rashka really misses you. He smiled softly and took her hands in his. His eyes gazed down at the ring. He was so happy that Jezz was almost officially his. Once they were married, then he'd feel more secure with her. He loved her so much. He didn't ever want to lose her again. Danny's eyes looked into hers and his smile creased even more. He was just so happy, he didn't even know how to describe it.

Jezz cried sweet happy tears into her fiancé's chest. God it felt so good to even think about. Danny was finally her fiancé. It made her so happy to know that she was going to be his wife. The kisses she planted on him were sweeter than ever, and when he told her she was beautiful, she just cried more. She knew she looked terrible, her hair was a mess and she was still in her muddy riding clothes. Her pants on her broken leg had been cut away, and her makeup was a mess. She looked like hell, or maybe worse. Her tears were interrupted by a jarring pain as danny picked her up. She gasped and dug her nails into his shoulders, her widened eyes the only window into her discomfort. She knew he didnt mean it. It's ok baby, I know you didnt mean to. Just be a little more careful, Okay? Her voice was gentle and sweet.
She pouted when he walked out of the room, and she could see the nurses staring at him through the open door. Anger flared up in her chest and her eyes blazed with fury. She glared at the nurses as their gaze followed him into the room, but when they saw the brooding blonde they quickly looked away and got busy. Two of them had already had to deal with her before, and knew what it was to be on Jezz's bad side, much less be staring at her future husband. Danny's bright eyes almost immediately gave her butterflies and made her happy again. I'm sure all the horses do. I'm most anxious about the newest foals, though. You know how much I love all my babies. Speaking of which, what about your horses? Do you want to move them to the stables? No sooner had she spoken had the brown haired nurse brought in her paperwork and shuffled out of the room, "Just bring it out when youre done." She didnt make eye contact with Jezz or danny as she left, which made jezz smirk just a little as she signed the 4 sheets of paper.
She used Danny's shoulder as she moved herself into the wheelchair she was supposed to be using and huffed irritably. I wish they would just let me walk out. I can move on my own. The words were barely audible and she wasnt sure if Danny heard her, but she knew he could see what she was thinking on her face and in her eyes. But the way he looked at her made her smile anyway. Baby, Lets go home? Please? Her voice was almost pleading. Everyone who knew Jezz knew she hated hospitals. She often avoided them even when she was hurt. Truthfully Danny was the only person who could ever really convince her to go in for things like stitches, rather than let her do them herself. SHe looked down at the ring on her finger and smiled. She had sworn once she would never settle down, that she would put her career first, but some things, like love, are just too important to pass up. And danny was her first, and only true love. And they say that kind of thing never dies. And here they were to prove it. No matter what happened, she and danny always found themselves back in eachother's arms. Now, for the last time, forever more. All there was to do was for danny to take her back to her... Their home.

Danny smiled softly as he wiped away her tears. He was making a mental checklist in his head for the things he was going to need to do for her once they got home. The first thing would be a bath, then food, and then relaxation. He didn't care if she looked like a mess, she was a hot mess. A very sexy one too. He nodded and smile bright at Jezz's geseture. Your babies are fine. I'll see to them once we get home and get you in the tub. He grabbed her hand once more, holding it tight. I would love that, Jezz. I'll see to it tomorrow. He lifted her hand up to his lips and kissed it softly as he gazed into her beautiful blue eyes.
The brown haired man couldn't help but smile at Jezz's smirk. He knew she had won that "battle". Jezz would always win. Danny stood up and helped her into the wheelchair and laughed at his fiance's remark. You know damn well as I do that there is no way that you would be able to walk out of this hospital. People with broken legs don't exactly go dancing the same night. He smiled down at her and wheeled her out of the hospital room and headed towards the elevator.
They pulled up to their farm in about twenty minutes. Danny smiled at the thought. Having a farm with Jezz was one of his dreams. It really was her farm and she ran it, but that's how he wanted it. As long as they both lived their dreams together, he was happy. He parked his car in front of the house and got out and went to the passenger side of the door. He grabbed the crutches the nurses had given them earlier at the hospital and propped them up for Jezz, then held out his hand to her. Come on baby. Almost there. He smiled down at her. Just think of a nice warm bubble bath that's awaiting you.
